Kendall Jenner is planning to walk away from modelling to pursue her passion for home design
The model, 29, made the admission as she described her dream of a “simple life” away from the spotlight, even though it has earned her millions.
Kendall, who first appeared on Keeping Up with the Kardashians at the age of 11, told Vogue she intends to quit the catwalk and focus on building a quieter life in Los Angeles, saying: “I swear to God, I’m going to stop everything and just design homes. I’m not kidding.”
Speaking in her interview alongside fellow model Gigi Hadid, 30, Kendall added: “I love my space in LA, but I also really love the simple life. I like getting up every morning and throwing on a bathing suit or sweatpants and no makeup and just being free with my day.”
She also said: “I think about the future a lot, but I try not to overplan because you know I’m a planner.”
Kendall described herself as a homebody and said she seeks normality when not working with luxury brands.
She added: “I love to go to the horse show dressed just like everybody else and have my helmet on and my sunglasses and my uniform, and I can compete under a completely different name.”
Her comments mark a possible turning point in a career that has made her the world’s highest-paid model.
After debuting on television in 2007, she built a profile through campaigns for leading fashion houses and appearances on international runways.
The Kardashian-Jenner family signed a deal with Hulu in 2021 to continue their reality television franchise The Kardashians.
While part of the series, Kendall admitted the format was not her favourite.
She said: “It’s not my biggest cup of tea.”
In August 2024, Kendall appeared on Emma Chamberlain’s Anything Goes podcast, where she reflected on her early years in the public eye.
She added: “We went to school. We went to school as long as we could. I started home school, 11th and 12th grade.
“So even though we had a TV show at home, we were going to regular school all day and had our friends that we had from before the show started.
“Overall, I am really grateful because I think it could have been a lot worse.
“I think that Kylie and I, the one thing we had was a lot of stability, a lot of love and a really great support system and really great friends.
“There’s also an aspect of us being really grateful that we had older siblings that we got to see do things before us and lead us in a way.”
