Kate Gosselin has opened up about her pregnancy and fertility struggles in a new six-part TikTok series titled “My Pregnancy, Infertility, and Birth Journey.”
Gosselin, who originally rose to fame during the airing of the reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8 which followed her and her ex-husband Jon Gosselin raising their twins and sextuplets together, recently joined TikTok and has since been sharing a look into her life as a nurse and her family life with her fans.
In her new series, she shared details of her infertility treatments, pregnancy challenges, and birth experiences with both her twins and her sextuplets. This included more information about the fact that her sextuplets were originally a set of septuplets when they were first conceived.
“We had our first ultrasound at six weeks, and there were seven babies,” Gosselin shared in part four of the series. “I think they had us come back the next week […] or two weeks, I can’t honestly remember, to see how they had progressed. In between that time, the seventh baby stopped growing.”

Following this loss, when another medical emergency arose, it left Gosselin fearing the loss of the remaining babies. “Along the way, there was another emergency, besides the kidney stones, besides the hyper stimulated ovaries.”
“At some point I started bleeding. I of course thought this was the beginning of a miscarriage, [that] I was losing them all,” Gosselin shared in the same TikTok. “But we already knew we had lost the seventh baby. …But it was pretty early on, started bleeding.”
At this point, Gosselin went to the hospital and had an ultrasound done where, much to her relief, all six babies were found to still have heartbeats.
“I ended up in the emergency room again, and they did an ultrasound. I explained to them I was pregnant with six babies. Used to be seven, and they did an ultrasound, and I was just waiting on pins and needles,” Gosselin recalled.
“[The ultrasound technician] said ‘I see six heartbeats, they’re there,’” Gosselin continued. “I literally, at that point, that was the moment I knew that I was committed to these babies. Because I realized, like the relief, and I started sobbing, that came over me. From that point on, I was in it. I was going to fight for them. I was going to do whatever. Not that I wasn’t before, but just the fact that it was dangled, I was threatened, you know, with losing them. It made me realize how much I already loved them. So that was very miraculous.”
In the comments, one fan asked Gosselin what gender she would guess the seventh baby was. Gosselin responded, “I’ve always thought girl. Her name would have been Emma.”
