TikTok influencer and author Eli Rallo, best known online for her lighthearted lists of “rules” and advice about life in your 20s, took to Instagram this week to announce a publishing deal with Grand Central Publishing, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, for her debut novel I Hope Eden Reads This.
This announcement left Rallo’s fans pleasantly surprised as it comes just a few weeks ahead of the October 14th release of her second book and memoir Does Anyone Else Feel This Way?.
Soaking in the moment, Rallo posted a TikTok of her smiling, cheering and dancing, with onscreen text reading, ”Just posted the big news I’ve been sitting on for a month on Instagram.”
With Rallo’s fans buzzing with excitement and questions about the announcement, she took to TikTok again to answer questions about the plot, her writing process, and more.
“It will be a breakup novel, but instead of being about a romantic relationship it’s going to be about a female friendship breakup,” Rallo shared in the TikTok.
Rallo added that the novel will follow the main character Penelope and her lifelong friend, Eden, as they navigate the ups and downs of college and post-grad life in New York City. Both characters have qualities that Rallo herself relates to, and she hopes her fans will see themselves in the novel.
Rallo also shared that each of her three books has felt like a natural evolution from the previous book.
“I Didn’t Know I Needed This basically sparked the idea for Does Anyone Else Feel This Way? and Does Anyone Else Feel This Way? sparked the idea for Eden. The three of them only exist with each other,” Rallo said in the TikTok.
Rallo has said that while she is too early in the process for an official release date, the novel is set to be released in 2027.
