Frank Grillo is one of several actors who have worked in both the MCU and the DCU!
The 60-year-old actor first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Brock Rumlow / Crossbones in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, as well as appearances in Avengers: Endgame and What If…? He then joined the DC Universe as Rick Flag Sr in Creature Commandos, Superman and Peacemaker season two.

“It’s different. It’s not organized in the same way. [DC] is really like all the scripts are in front of you and you kind of have a real secure handle on what’s happening,” he told People. “And there’s nothing wrong with it, but [Marvel] was a little fly by the seat of your pants.”
He added that Marvel was “done very well,” but for some, it could be daunting not knowing what’s coming for your character.
“For me, it’s a little scary to do it that way,” he says, seemingly noting he prefers DC.
Both of his characters in each franchise are similar, as they are both soldiers fighting for what they believe in, and he had big fights in each one – versus Captain America and versus Peacemaker.
“I had no problem beating the crap out of either one of them,” he said jokingly. “I mean … I don’t know. They were both easy pickings.”
Another actor who has starred in both franchises is Sean Gunn (who is James Gunn‘s brother) – who notably starred as Kraglin Obfonteri in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, multiple Avengers movies and Thor: Love and Thunder. He also previously played Weasel and Calendar Man in The Suicide Squad and Creature Commandos, and now plays Maxwell Lord in Superman and Peacemaker.
Michael Rooker, Zachary Levi, Ben Affleck, Ryan Reynolds, Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons and more have also starred in movies for both Marvel and DC.
