Ever since My Life With the Walter Boys premiered in December 2023, fans have been buzzing about the off-screen chemistry between costars Noah LaLonde and Nikki Rodriguez. Now, as season 2 of the Netflix hit drops, LaLonde is finally responding—well, kind of.
During an interview with People, LaLonde was asked about speculation surrounding his personal relationship with Rodriguez, especially given that the two have attended multiple events together since the show’s debut—sometimes accompanied by co-star Ashby Gentry, sometimes not.
“That investment and that intensity of the on-screen, off-screen, I think it’s a lot of fun,” LaLonde told the outlet, adding that he is simply “over the moon that people feel that way about our show.”
While the interest in their lives can be “overwhelming” and “shocking as a young person starting your career,” LaLonde says that he understands that fans’ curiosity is “the first thing that happens.”
“Ultimately, I’ve gotten to the place where I’m really grateful that I get to be a part of that beast at least once in my life,” he said. “It’s a lot of fun, and you embrace it.” He also emphasized that the attention “has never gotten to the point of overwhelming” for him.
The actor also discussed the balance between sharing his life with fans and keeping personal space intact. “There [are] two sides to the aforementioned coin of this beast of this type of show, and I think the other side of the coin is prioritizing your own personal space, and prioritizing your routine outside of the beast,” he said.
“It’s all bubbling out there, but if you can separate it and have a moment alone with yourself and your loved ones… I’m so lucky to have so many outlets of that, that I don’t feel that pressure very much, because I’ve been really grateful to have it,” LaLonde added.
For now, it seems clear that LaLonde and Rodriguez would rather fans focus on their sizzling on-screen romance than speculate about what’s happening off-camera.
My Life With the Walter Boys season 2 premiered on August 28 on Netflix.
