Nick Jonas is no stranger to the Met Gala.
The singer and actor has attended the popular event at least six times. He first attended the Met Gala as a 20-year-old in 2012 alongside two of his brothers, Kevin Jonas and Joe Jonas.
He returned four years later in 2016, attending the event alone, before the Gala eventually led him to his wife Priyanka Chopra who he attended the Gala with at least four times in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2023 and 2025.
But during an Are You OK? interview shared on TikTok, Nick revealed a fun fact about two of those Met Gala appearances.
2012
When asked if there was a “hill you’re willing to die on,” Nick had a very political response. “I think public transportation should be free for tax paying citizens,” Nick said, prompting the host to tell the singer that he “should run for mayor.”
“Should you be rocking on public transport?” the host questioned referring to his celebrity status. “I’ve actually taken the subway twice to the Met Gala, of all places,” Nick admitted, despite not elaborating on which of the two Met Galas he took the subway for.
2016
“If I was ever invited to the Met Gala, which I would never be, I would not take a subway,” the host responded.
The Met Gala is a special event for Nick and Priyanka, personally. The couple revealed that they actually at the Gala after they were asked to walk the carpet together after being invited by Ralph Lauren in 2017.
2017
In an interview with British Vogue in August, Priyanka recalled the moment she agreed to walk the carpet alongside Nick, who she was not romantically linked to at the time.
Priyanka recalled being asked if she “would walk the carpet with Nick, because both of us were going with the house, but, like, single, alone.”
2018
“So I was like, this is random, and I’ve never done that actually, like, unless I’m promoting a movie or something, walk a carpet with a co actor, and I didn’t even know him,” Priyanka continued. “We had, you know, randomly texted over last year, but maybe because I was curious, I was like, ‘Sure.’”
2019
“We were just supposed to walk the carpet, and then we were supposed to go our ways,” Priyanka recalled.
2023/2025
“And I remember I walked in after the carpet was done, I took off my train and I had a short dress underneath. I remember turning around, and I was just alone in a room full of people that I didn’t know. And I remember feeling really like my feet were stuck to the ground. I didn’t know which direction to go in, and all I remember is Nick just calling out my name, handing me his hand and just pulling me in with him. He’s like, ‘This way.’ And after that, we spent the whole night together. So I was kind of really heady with that,” she said of that moment that started it all.
