Tristan’s most famous role was that of Robert Scorpio on ABC’s General Hospital. Tristan portrayed the character starting in 1980 and remained a regular cast member until 1992. Robert became a focal character of the show, finding himself embroiled in the adventures of Luke and Laura, as well as becoming the male half of two supercouples of his own, Robert and Anna and Robert and Holly. Following his initial departure, Tristan returned to the soap in various capacities starting in 2006 (barring a detour) and continuing until last month, when his final scenes aired as Robert was shown welcoming Sasha, his daughter with Holly, to his home.
The detour involved Tristan becoming a cast member of CBS’s The Young and the Restless, portraying Colin Atkinson. For a few years in the 2010s, Tristan would move between shows. Earlier this year, Colin was stated to have passed away off screen (although, given that it’s a soap, one never knows).
Aside from his soap roles, Tristan voiced the character Jake, the Kangaroo Mouse, in Disney’s The Rescuers Down Under.
Tristan is survived by his wife, two children, and numerous grandchildren.
Below is a clip showcasing the Scorpio family (and Duke) when they were reunited.
