An insider is revealing some more information about Kelly Clarkson‘s upcoming busy schedule amid the news that her ex husband Brandon Blackstock lost his battle with cancer.
The 48-year-old passed away on Thursday morning (August 7) after a three-year battle. They were married for several years but split in 2020, and he was the father of their two children. He was also the former step-son of country singer Reba McEntire.
Kelly has three major NBC commitments in the coming weeks, including filming The Voice.

If you don’t know, Kelly is returning to the show for the 29th season, which will be dubbed The Voice: Battle of Champions and will air in Spring 2026. She will be joined by just two fellow coaches: Adam Levine and John Legend. Season 29 is supposed to be filming their Battles Round on August 21 and August 22, as well as the Knockouts Round on September 5 and September 6.
Fans are wondering if things might get postponed as Kelly spends time with her family. She canceled her Las Vegas concert dates just before Brandon‘s passing.
Now, Page Six has a slight update.
They share that it’s “believed” that she already filmed the audition segments for season 29 of the hit NBC reality competition show.
But she could end up not participating in the live shows, as one insider said, “They cannot force her.”
NBC has not made any sort of statement at this time, and Kelly has not made a public statement about her plans.
