Wednesday season 2 has hit Netflix and it’s full of eerie atmosphere!
Although the first season of the Netflix series was filmed in Romania, the second season had a change of scenery. In 2024, the Netflix series moved production to Ireland in what Variety reports was a massive milestone for Ireland’s television and film industry.

One of the main filming locations for season 2 of Wednesday was Ashford Studios. According to PEOPLE, Netflix added a massive 170,000 square feet of new filming space to the studio. Many of the scenes at Nevermore Academy were filmed in the large studio.
Other Nevermore Academy scenes were filmed at Charleville Castle in County Offaly. Charleville Castle was built in 1798 and has been used as the backdrop for The Green Night, the pilot episode of Reign, and featured on multiple TV shows about haunted historical locations.
Trinity College Dublin was also featured on the series, but not as a school! The business school of the college was transformed into New Jersey’s Newark Airport. Netflix allowed classes to continue as they borrowed the security desk to film a busy airport check-in terminal!
The production team also put the natural scenery of Ireland to use for backdrops for other scenes. Dean’s Grange Cemetery in County Dublin, one of the largest cemeteries in Ireland, was used for many of the outdoor scenes in season 2 of Wednesday. Other outdoor scenes were filmed in the landscaped gardens and waterfalls of Powerscourt Demesne in County Wicklow.
