While there’s no concrete information yet, there’s a chance that the next two seasons of The Voice could be impacted by the tragic death of music mogul Brandon Blackstock.
Brandon passed away on Thursday morning (August 7) after a three-year battle with cancer. He was the ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson and father of their two children. He was also the former step-son of country singer Reba McEntire.

Reba and Kelly are judges on the upcoming seasons and they were both schedule to be filming right now.
Reba is set to be a coach on the 28th season of The Voice, airing in Fall 2025. She will be joined by Niall Horan, Michael Buble, and Snoop Dogg.
TV tickets website 1iota had a listing for a Battles Round taping on August 7 at 1:45pm PT, as well as multiple tapings on Friday (August 8). The Knockouts Round is scheduled for August 28 and August 29.
Kelly is returning to the show for the 29th season, which will be dubbed The Voice: Battle of Champions and will air in Spring 2026. She will be joined by just two fellow coaches: Adam Levine and John Legend.
Season 29 will be filming their Battles Round on August 21 and August 22, as well as the Knockouts Round on September 5 and September 6.
NBC has not announced any news yet, but we can only imagine that tapings will be postponed to allow Reba and Kelly time to grieve.
Kelly has three major NBC commitments in the coming weeks.
