Dean Cain is becoming an ICE agent.

On Wednesday (August 6), the 58-year-old actor, who is best known for playing Superman in the 90s television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, appeared on Fox News’ Jesse Watters Primetime where he revealed that he has applied to join the Immigration and Customs Enforcement to help carry out President Donald Trump‘s mass deportation agenda.

“I’m stepping up,” he added. “Hopefully, a whole bunch of other former officers, former ICE agents, will step up and we’ll meet those recruitment goals immediately, and we’ll help protect this country.”

When asked what motivated him to join ICE, Dean answered, “This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing. I truly believe this is the right thing.”

He continued, “We have a broken immigration system. Congress needs to fix it, but in the interim, President Trump ran on this. He is delivering on this. This is what people voted for. It’s what I voted for, and he’s going to see it through, and I’ll do my part and help make sure it happens.”

Earlier this week, Dean took to Instagram to share a video encouraging his followers to join the federal agency.

“For those who don’t know, I am a sworn law enforcement officer, as well as being a filmmaker, and I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans, not just talk about it,” Dean said. “So, I joined up.”

“So, if you want to help save America, ICE is arresting the worst of the worst and removing them from America’s streets. I like that. I voted for that,” he added. “They need your help. We need your help, to protect our homeland and our families.”

In another recent interview, Dean said that he “loved” playing gay roles in the past.
