Candace Owens is speaking out about the recent lawsuit filed against her.
The 36-year-old right-wing commentator was sued by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and his wife Brigitte Macron, over “outlandish, defamatory, and far-fetched fictions” claims that Candace made about the First Lady.
Now, Candace has reacted to the lawsuit in a video the same day it was revealed, and her rep has also shared a statement.

“Candace Owens is not shutting up,” a spokesperson for Candace told Deadline. “This is a foreign government attacking the First Amendment rights of an American independent journalist. Candace repeatedly requested an interview with Brigitte Macron. Instead of offering a comment, Brigitte is resorting to trying to bully a reporter into submission. In France, politicians can bully journalists, but this is not France. It’s America. Candace will address everything on her show today, where she will continue to express her First Amendment rights.”
“The life of Candace Owens, it works like this,” Candace said on her podcast on Wednesday. “I wake up, I stretch, I have a cup of coffee, and then I am served with a lawsuit.”
“Fire everybody around you, and I mean literally everyone around you, who told you that this was a good idea. That this was a very good idea for you to be the first sitting first lady of a country to file a lawsuit against a journalist of another country,” she added.
“You’re defaming me because you don’t want people to continue to watch the series. But I’m sorry, my friend, the train has left the station,” Candace said. “It’s not going to work, OK? You’ve met your match.”
“If you need any more evidence that Brigitte Macron is definitely a man, it is just what is happening right now. The idea that you would file this lawsuit is all of the proof that you need,” she continued.
“I am fully prepared to take on this battle,” she adds. “On behalf of the entire world, I will see you in court.”
The lawsuit stems after the First Family’s three past retraction demands sent to Candace, as said in the complaint, following her “Becoming Brigitte” series where she claims Brigitte was born male, citing a book that stemmed it all.
“To make matters worse, many others have republished her lies, thereby increasing their global audience and the emotional and reputational harm they have caused,” the Macrons lawyer declared in the suit.
