Rick Springfield is putting Craig Melvin on blast!
On Wednesday (July 9), the 75-year-old rocker appeared on 3rd Hour of Today where he chatted with Craig, 46, and fellow co-stars Al Roker and Jill Martin about his iconic track “Jessie’s Girl.”
While answering a question, Rick got distracted when Craig yawned.
“Am I boring you?” Rick said, before jokingly getting up to walk away before sitting back down with a smile.

“Not at all, Rick,” Craig responded through a cough. “I apologize.”
Rick, Al, and Jill all started laughing as Craig still looked embarrassed.
“It’s early, don’t worry about it,” Rick quipped. “I’ll yawn, too.”
As everyone continued laughing, Craig insisted, “It was a cough.”
Rick and the anchors all had a blast throughout the rest of the interview as they all joked and laughed together. At one point, the anchors presented the grandfather-to-be with a Today onesie to give his future grandchild.
“It’s a free plug,” Rick said when he was given the onesie.
When asked what his grandpa name will be, Rick joked, “I’m thinking ‘Your Excellency,’ ‘Caesar,’ the ‘Right Honorable Mr. Springfield.’ Easy stuff for a kid to pronounce.”
Towards the end of the interview, Craig declared, “Rick Springfield, I had no idea you were so funny, by the way. Come back, come back anytime.”
“He has vaulted into the top five of favorite guests,” Al added.
