    Pedro Pascal Responds to Criticism About Being ‘Too Old’ for Role in ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’

    Pedro Pascal is responding to the claims that he’s too old to have been cast in the latest Fantastic Four movie.

    The 50-year-old actor spoke to AP News about being cast in the franchise. According to Pedro, he doesn’t normally let criticism get to him but this time was an exception.

    “I think maybe my nerves were bigger than they usually are, and so I think I just was a little bit more sensitive to the love that people have for stories like this, because I know that they wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the love that people have for these characters,” Pedro told the outlet.

    He said that though he usually tries to ignore negative comments about himself, occasionally getting hurt by them “comes with the territory” of being famous.

    Pedro revealed that his role in this new Fantastic Four movie was the one that got to him was because he felt so much pressure to bring the character to life for the dedicated fans of the franchise.

    “I think that it’s very important for me that expectations be fulfilled. But I also know that the only way to do that is to give it all my focus and all my heart and my body and my soul, and so that was the best I could do,” Pedro said of his portrayal of Reed Richards.
