Jurassic World Rebirth is off to a great start at the box office!
The new movie launched in theaters ahead of the Fourth of July holiday and picked up $147.3 million for its five-day opening weekend at the domestic box office. The full global opening came in at $318.3 million, which marks the second-biggest worldwide launch for Jurassic movie.
“No one saw that coming,” THR reports, adding that estimates for the weekend box office gross have been “revised upwards every day since the pic hit the big screen” due to stronger than expected performance.
Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey lead the cast of the reboot film.

It was expected that the movie would earn around $100 to $120 million at the domestic box office and around $260 million globally. The movie far surpassed those expectations!
