A month after her removal from the villa, Yulissa shared the truth of how she left the show. She captioned the video, “Plot twist: I wasn’t dragged out in the dark. I walked out in broad daylight head high, lashes on. Here’s the real story.”

In the video, Yulissa revealed that she was getting to know the rest of the cast when she was approached by production.

“I had gotten called to the front and then I met one of the producers and they asked me to take my mic off,” Yulissa revealed in the video.

She went on to say that she was concerned something had happened to one of her family members. She said in the video, “They didn’t really tell me anything. They just said that a video resurfaced on the internet and it’s not looking too good. I didn’t really know what video or what I was saying or what I did.”

Yulissa said she later found out what the videos were: podcast episodes of her saying a racial slur on multiple occasions. She addressed the controversy in the video and said, “I get it. I said a word that I should have not said. But I wish I would have never said that. It is what it is. I can’t go back in time. I am sorry that I said that word.”
