“It isn’t that people don’t believe in what happened to Angelina Jolie on that plane — they just don’t care.” https://t.co/fwfwUnpe9v

• Dax Shepard is the latest celebrity and media outlet to help Brad Pitt rehab his image after the alleged 2016 assault of ex-wife Angelina Jolie and their children on a plane (Jolie’s lawyer later confirmed physical abuse of Jolie had gone on for years).
• Pitt’s crisis-management publicist Matthew Hiltzik has represented Johnny Depp, Donald Trump, and Justin Baldoni. His F1 press tour has been fluffy and he remains vague on his rehab and bettering of his life, careful not to mention the plane incident.
• “Pitt has been so successful at this rehabilitation that most of the public don’t even understand what he’s trying to rehabilitate himself for.” – which is unfortunately true…many people are unaware of the abuse, still.
• “The off-screen persona is a performance, too […his] deftness in removing the specter of violence from his own narrative is a reminder of the ways violence against women is normalized. It isn’t that people don’t believe in what happened to Jolie on that plane — they just don’t care.”
