Coco Gauff is eliminated from Wimbledon 2025 after a first round loss.
The 21-year-old French Open champion was eyeing the Wimbledon title but lost in the first round to Ukranian Daryana Yastremska on Tuesday (July 1). Coco entered Wimbledon as the No. 2 seed and lost to the 42nd-ranked player.

Coco was defeated in straight sets, losing to Daryana 6-7 (3), 1-6.
In a clip shared by Wimbledon on X, Daryana showed off the flames painted on her fingernails. She commented on her win and said, “It was a great match today, I was really on fire.”
This isn’t Coco‘s first time being eliminated in the first round at Wimbldeon. In 2023, she lost to Sofia Kenin in the first round.
