Though it has not been officially confirmed there have long been reports that David Fincher is making an American version of ‘Squid Game’ for Netflix. Variety suspects that Cate Blanchett’s presence is meant to lead in to this (which would make Fincher’s series not a remake but a sequel/spinoff).
