Richard Madden and Gugu Mbatha-Raw are teaming up to play the leads in a new political drama from Netflix.
The 39-year-old Game of Thrones actor and 42-year-old Surface actress were cast as the lead roles in Netflix’s upcoming series Trinity.

Deadline reports that Gugu has been cast as Navy Commander Katherine Decker who is deployed on the USS Kansas, a nuclear submarine. Richard has been cast as Secretary of Defense Webb Preston whose tech knowledge sets him apart from other government officials. When the two of them become involved, Katherine finds out that Webb might be in heading a dangerous conspiracy.
Jed Mercurio, who previously worked with Richard on Bodyguard, is reported to be the showrunner for the upcoming Netflix series. Deadline reports that the series will have a total of eight episodes.
