    Hayley Kiyoko Announces Lead Casting For ‘Girls Like Girls’ Movie, Her Feature Film Directorial Debut

    Hayley Kiyoko has revealed the two stars of her upcoming Girls Like Girls movie adaptation!

    The 34-year-old entertainer is turning her New York Times Bestselling debut novel of the same name into a feature film, which she will co-write and make her directing debut.

    While the movie was announced back in December, she has now shared who will be bringing the two main characters, Coley and Sonya, to life!

    Under The Bridge‘s Maya da Costa (pictured bottom right) is set to star as Coley and He’s All That‘s Myra Molloy (pictured top right) will play Sonya.

    “Today is the 10 year anniversary of the release of “girls like girls” – the music video. What a journey it’s been, and continues to be. I am beyond grateful to all of you who have been on this wild ride with me since the very beginning. So here we are, a decade later, meeting the lead actors of our film for the first time. A film that up until now was just a crazy dream that has now come to life. 😭” Hayley captioned her video announcement, which you can see below.

    “Here are the moments when I finally got to share the exciting news with each of them. These girls’ performances are going to blow you away. This is only the beginning…” she added. “@girlslikegirlsfilm coming soon😍AH!!!!!!!”

    Hayley is co-writing the movie with actress Stefanie Scott, who co-starred in the “Girls Like Girls” music video which Hayley also directed.

    Marc Platt will serve as one of the producers on the upcoming movie, which “tells the universal story of falling in love for the first time and learning to accept yourself along the way.”
