Welcome to your weekly TikTok roundup. The orange demon has delayed the TikTok ban once again because he is a coward, so we have another week of mess. Pull on up.
- Juneteenth was this week. How did Kroger celebrate? With viral, problematic Juneteenth cookie cakes with sloppily written sayings such as, “Free @ last” and “June 19 Free.” Should’ve hired Sandra Lee!
- Ready for the meme-ification of war? Gen Z and millenials have been posting TikToks about living through World War 3, with incredibly unserious takes.
- TikTok has allegedly been suppressing the videos of black feminist content creators like Cecilia Regina and Shawnda in favor of a white female creator who goes by Flawed Villain who, shocker, was secretly a TERF and Trump supporter.
- Stephanie and Drew of The Resilient Jenkins have allegedly broken up. They went viral for living with seven kids in a one-bedroom apartment, where the kids slept on the kitchen floor. Drew remains unemployed, though he does still own the PS5.
- A drunken slattern on a Southwest flight cussed out a woman, called her fat, grabbed her hair, and spit on her. The offender was a 32-year-old named Leanna Perry, and she may now face criminal charges. (ONTD post here.)
- Some woman went to a jewelry store called Boca Aquarium with her children, believing it was, you know, an aquarium. It was, in fact, a jewelry store. All of their marketing online makes it look like an aquarium, so now they might be in trouble for tax reasons.
- Viral trends: People showing their gross, disgusting rooms to the song “Freaks,” putting turmeric into water, turning around to whisper a controversial opinion and then turning back and asking, “Who said that?”
- Weck jars are the latest trendy drinking vessel. They are glass jars. Why are they different from mason jars? They are [spoiler]shaped slightly differently.
- Have you been getting a bunch of random clips of 90s home makeover shows on your FYP? You’re not alone. There’s suddenly seemingly a zillion spam accounts posting mortifying clips of a 90s redecorating show called Design Cents. They show crazy shit like painting a fake rug on a hardwood floor, decoupaging their kitchen cabinets with “sacred Indian prayers,” and hanging Beanie Babies above the toilet.
