Anthony Ramos says his most “terrifying” celebrity sighting in the Hamilton audience while he acted in the show was Madonna, and it all has to do with her behavior.

10 years after Madonna saw the show in the Off-Broadway run at the Public Theater, Anthony is speaking out to echo what his co-stars have already revealed.

Anthony made his revelation during an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live on Thursday (June 19).

“The most terrifying was Madonna with her an iPad in her face. She was like this [shining a light] the whole time,” Anthony said. “I was like, ‘Damn, shorty. If you’re not enjoying it that much, you know the door is right there. You don’t have to stay here.’”

Lin-Manuel Miranda tweeted and then deleted a note about the alleged moment back in April 2015.

“Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage. #noselfieforyou,” he tweeted, seemingly about Madonna.

Madonna‘s publicist told Us Weekly at the time, “It’s not true. She was invited backstage four different times. She texted post show when they were doing their fundraising pitch. Madonna had already made a generous donation.”

Jonathan Groff, who played King George in the origninal cast, also spoke out back in 2015. He said at the time “that bitch was on her phone.”

“You couldn’t miss it from the stage,” he said. “It was a black void of the audience in front of us and her face there perfectly lit by the light of her iPhone through three-quarters of the show.”
