Ex-NCT member Taeil admits to rape charges, prosecution seeks jail term of 7 years
First up, Taeil (formerly of NCT/SM Entertainment) has pled guilty to the charge of “special quasi-rape”.
“Quasi-rape” does not designate something less serious than rape but instead is a special legal term used to denote[Spoiler (click to open)]situations in which two or more people collectively rape a single victim or where the victim is deemed incapable of resisting the rape due to the presence of a weapon or the use of some other form of intimidation.
In Taeil’s case, he and two other shitbags were indicted on charges of quasi-rape on February 28, 2025, following reports that they had assaulted an intoxicated tourist in June 2024. All three have pled guilty. The prosecutor has requested sentences of 7 years for all three shitbags due to the “extremely egregious” nature of the particular quasi-rape, stating: “After the crime, the defendants even discussed sending the victim off in a taxi from a location different from the crime scene[.] There was an intention to prevent the victim from remembering the location of the crime or to obstruct police tracking.”
Taeil apologized at yesterday’s court appearance but I’m not interested in repeating his bullshit here. He’s been working part-time at a friend’s restaurant since getting booted from SM Entertainment in October 2024.
All three shitbags will be sentenced on July 10.
Ex-Idol Spotted On Sex Offender App, A Possible Future Former NCT’s Taeil May Face

Last year, Himchan (formerly of B.A.P/TS Entertainment) was spotted on an app maintained by the Korean government that serves as a public-facing database of known sex offenders. In 2021, he had pled guilty to sexually harassing a woman and was sentenced to 10 months in prison. Five days after he pled guilty, more accusations surfaced: he was accused of sexually assaulting two more women, with another assault case being actively investigated. Then, in May 2022, he not only[Spoiler (click to open)]assaulted a victim but illegally filmed the assault and sent the video to the victim a month later. For this, he received a slap on the wrist (five years’ probation) in early 2024. Taeil’s case is bringing Himchan’s crimes back into the spotlight, with enrolment in the app being one of several possible long-term consequences Taeil may face beyond a prison sentence.
Former THE BOYZ’s Ju Haknyeon Gets Reported to Police #THEBOYZ

Ju Haknyeon was recently booted from both THE BOYZ (a boy group) and ONE HUNDRED (an entertainment company) for allegedly engaging in prostitution (illegal both in Korea and for Korean citizens abroad) by soliciting former Japanese AV actress Kirara Asuka. Allegedly, MC Mong (who stepped down as a co-founder and the chief producer of ONE HUNDRED for “personal reasons”) was also involved in soliciting prostitution.
How Much Exactly Does Actor Kim Soo Hyun Owe In Contract Penalties So Far?
— Koreaboo (@koreaboo.com) Jun 18, 2025 at 21:30
Lastly, famous actor/child rapist/sentient piece of shit Kim Soo Hyun has been buried in penalty fees ever since his grooming “scandal” involving Kim Sae Ron broke. Many of his CF contracts have gone up in flames thanks to something commonly referred to as a “morality clause”. To protect their (usually substantial) investments in individual CF models, brands typically include morality clauses to ensure that they can demand penalty fees/recoup some of their losses from their models in the event that a model is found to have engaged in behaviour that is either illegal or sufficiently socially controversial so as to impact the image of the brand(s) to which they are attached. In Kim Soo Hyun’s case, he is now radioactive, and the list of companies lining up to demand penalty fees is growing.
Sadly, Disney Plus has yet to grow a backbone, but two subsidiaries of the famous rice cooker brand Cuckoo (Cuckoo Electronics and Cuckoo Homesys, Cuckoo’s Malaysian subsidiary) has applied for asset seizure, while FromBIO (a health supplement brand most famous for its stem cell hair loss treatment that pulled all advertising featuring Kim Soo Hyun immediately after the scandal broke in March 2025) is seeking ₩3.96B in compensation (~$2.89M USD/$3.94M CAD), and Trendmaker (which owns/operates the vegan beauty brand DINTO and that initially showed support for Kim Soo Hyun before backtracking in response to backlash) is seeking ₩500M (~$365K USD/$498K CAD) from the actor as of April 25. Classys (a cosmetics and skincare company) has also seized one of the actor’s apartments after he failed to pay the company’s ₩3B (~$2.19M USD/$2.99M CAD) penalty fee.
Not including the value of his apartment, the current value of all of the lawsuits is ₩7.34B (~$5.36M USD/$7.31M CAD) and counting. (If the apartment is worth ₩3B, then the total climbs to ₩10.34B/~$7.55M USD/~$10.3M CAD.) Considering Kim Soo Hyun was able to command ₩700M (~$511K USD/~$697K CAD) per episode of his most recent dramas, hopefully the number continues to climb.
