Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey have teamed up for a new project and they’re down for more collabs in the future as their friendship flourishes outside of the studio, insiders exclusively tell Life & Style.

“Mariah is one of Ariana’s idols so it’s been an absolutely crazy experience to now be able to call her a friend. And they’re both absolutely in awe of Barbra Streisand, so the fact that they’re doing a song with her is just next level, they were both fangirling over Barbra together, which was very cute,” sources close to the music powerhouses reveal ahead of the single’s release.

Barbra, an eight-time Grammy winner, announced her upcoming studio album, The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two, is coming out on June 27 and will feature a collaboration with none other than Ariana, 31, and Mariah, 56, titled “One Heart, One Voice.”

“I’ve always loved singing duets with gifted artists. They inspire me in unique and different ways … and make our time in the studio a joy,” Barbra shared in a statement. “My new album, The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two, gave me the chance to work and play with some of my old friends, label mates, and new artists too. I admire all of them … and I hope that you’ll enjoy listening to our collaborations as much as I enjoyed recording with all of my wonderful partners.”

This will be yet another joint project for Ariana and Mariah, who previously worked together on “Oh Santa!” in 2020 and more recently in February for the remix of “Yes, And?” The latter was a new spin on the lead single from Ariana’s album Eternal Sunshine.

The “It’s a Wrap” hitmaker’s twins, 14-year-old Monroe and Moroccan, are “really into Ariana so that’s what got her attention at first,” Life & Style has learned. “Mariah takes what her kids say to heart so she did a song with Ariana and their friendship kicked off from there.”

Plus, Mariah has been following the pop star’s acting career. The chart-topping performer was elated to see Ariana secure her role as Glinda the Good before Wicked became a certified box office megahit.

“She was a huge supporter of her in Wicked right from the start. Ariana put in months of vocal training just to audition for that part, the range didn’t come naturally to her, and Mariah actually put her through her paces a few times and gave her pointers,” the sources add.

It was a dream come true for the former Sam & Cat star, who told Kristin Chenoweth she wanted to fill her shoes of playing Glinda one day when she was only 8 years old.

Wicked has since grossed more than $750 million worldwide. The sequel, Wicked: For Good, will drop almost a year to the day after its predecessor, hitting theaters November 21, 2025.

Sources tell Life & Style, “Ariana hasn’t had a whole lot of time off but now that she’s done filming Wicked she and Mariah are making plans to hang out, which is still thrilling for her.”
