What happened in TikTok-land this week? Let’s take a look:

    • OnlyFans star Bonnie Blue has canceled a stunt that she was going to do called the “petting zoo,” where she would tie herself up in a glass box and allow 2,000 male fans to come in and do whatever they wanted to her. OnlyFans deactivated her page, which might have something to do with it. She earns a reported $800,000 per month from it. One of Blue’s previous stunts involved having sex with 1,000 men in 12 hours.
    • A buttload of influencer weddings happened or are happening soon this summer. Big names include Madeline White, Helen Owen, Charlotte Bickley, Claudia Walsh, Remi Ashton, Noelle Cheney, Gretchen Geraghty, and Stephanie Valentine. One influencer wedding that made news a week or two ago was Jaz Smith, who made more than 40 TikToks about her wedding, including posting on her wedding day, during the own ceremony.
    • Addison Rae looks like she might be the first TikTok star to successfully cross into the mainstream as a pop star, God help us. However, her songs have failed to make a big impact on the U.S. charts.
    • Since Lorde released her song “Man of the Year,” it’s been a trend for women to use the song in TikToks where they post insane shit that their exes did to them. One guy made an EDM remix of a voice mail of his girlfriend crying.

    • Nara Smith is pregnant with her fourth baby. She is 23 and a Mormon momfluencer/fashion model. She and her husband Lucky Blue Smith also have kids named Rumble Honey, Slim Easy, and Whimsy Lou. We had an ONTD post about it.

    • TikTok has been dominated by footage of people being detained by ICE, as well as the No Kings protests this week. Relieved to say that most of the response on TikTok seems to be anti-ICE. (Might just be my algorithm, though.)
    • The American Academy of Pediatrics conducted a study of 100 TikToks with over 1 million views and found that 76% of girls ages 7 to 17 are using skincare routines that could harm their skin, even if they do not need it. Girls used an average of six skincare products and the average cost of these skincare routines is $168. They frequently use ingredients that may increase the risk of sun damage and pose “little to no benefit for the pediatric populations they are targeting.”
    • Finally, some dude named Tyler went globally viral for singing a Keith Sweat song on a Carnival Cruise. The internet is funny like that.
