Today happens to be Tom Girardi‘s 86th birthday and he was gifted a very undesirable birthday present – a seven-year prison sentence.
The estranged husband of Real Housewives star Erika Jayne was found guilty of “embezzling millions of dollars from former clients” and has also been ordered to pay $2.3 million in restitution to his victims, according to NBC News.
In addition to his prison sentence and restitution requirement, Girardi will also have to pay for $35,000 fine.
Girardi was photographed leaving the courthouse on Tuesday (June 3) in Los Angeles.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California said, “Girardi sent lulling communications to the defrauded clients that, among other things, falsely denied that the settlement proceeds had been paid and falsely claimed that Girardi Keese could not pay the settlement proceeds to clients until certain purported requirements had been met. These bogus requirements included addressing supposed tax obligations, settling bankruptcy claims, obtaining supposedly necessary authorizations from judges, and satisfying other debts.”
Tom and Erika got married in 2000 after meeting in 1998 when she was working as a waitress at a restaurant that he frequented. She filed for divorce in November 2020, one month before the lawsuit was filed.
Erika reportedly hooked up with another reality star last month.
