Fans have gotten to know Jenni “JWoww” Farley as a reality star on Jersey Shore, though she has stepped into a new career as a director. Life & Style breaks down everything you need to know about her directing career, including exclusive quotes about her new professional path.
How Did Jersey Shore’s JWoww Get Into Directing?
Jenni opened up about how she became interested in directing during an exclusive interview with Life & Style while promoting season 8 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation in May 2025.
“I’ve always wanted to do it. I went to school for art, as well ,and I made this joke … I feel like it was like 13 years ago when we shot Snooki & JWoww at Pennhurst Asylum. I said if I ever grew up, I would make a movie here,” she revealed to Life & Style.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jenni brought “a bunch of friends” to Pennhurst Asylum in Chester County, Pennsylvania, with no script or any “idea” about what she wanted to film. “I only knew reality,” she said, explaining that she “found footage” that helped guide the process.
Jersey Shore’s JWoww Has Continued Directing With the Psychological Thriller ‘Nanny Cam’
While her first attempt at directing was during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jenni has continued to pursue a career in directing with her upcoming film, Nanny Cam, which she also wrote.
The project was first announced in February 2025 and stars Katie Cassidy, Riley Dandy, Myles Clohessy and Sol Miranda.
The film follows a new mother, played by Katie, who grapples with her dark ancestral legacy while trying to protect her newborn daughter against what she believes is an evil demon. Throughout the film, viewers will see the character question her own mental health as she tries to protect her baby.
Jersey Shore’s JWoww Reacts to Expectations From Fans
Jenni knows that she’s created a loyal fan base from her time on MTV, which means that many people will have high expectations for her movies.

“When it comes to fans, I think they expect more out of us and everyone,” Jenni told Life & Style. “They expect way more out of us and they want to judge us for everything we do wrong.”
Jenni then pointed out that fans have high expectations for all of the stars of Jersey Shore, though many of them have worked hard to get to where they are today outside of the show.
After noting that Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi “started on Etsy before” she opened her storefronts for The Snooki Shop, Jenni pointed out that Vinny Guadagnino “started in, like, small basements for his comedy.”
“That’s the same with my first movie. It had to be small because, first off, I have no right going into a multimillion-dollar film,” Jenni said. “I need to learn from the bottom up. And I love the fact that Jersey Shore’s [been] able to really showcase me learning how to do it and how supportive they are.”
She continued, “But again, like the fans, I call them, like, fans and haters at the same time. Like, they wanna see you fail. But I definitely know with Nanny Cam, I’m not failing.”
