Catherine Paiz opened up her world to fans as she and now-ex Austin McBroom gained fame while becoming one of YouTube’s most popular families. Although things looked picture-perfect in front of the cameras, their marriage was rocky behind the scenes, leading to their January 2024 separation.

Catherine has since become the center of attention with her candid May 2025 tell-all interview on the “Call Her Daddy” Podcast, in which she discusses what led to their breakup. Life & Style shares everything to know about the social media star, who carved her own path long before they were ever involved and called it quits.

    Where Is Catherine Paiz From?

Catherine was born in Montreal, Canada, and lived in Florida during part of her childhood. The influencer made her way to Los Angeles when she was 16 to pursue a modeling career.

How Did Catherine Paiz Become Famous?

Catherine modeled and earned a few acting credits under her belt in the films Lilin’s Blood, Monday Nights at Seven and You Can’t Have It.

Once she started dating Austin in 2015, they made social media their main job together.

Inside Catherine Paiz’s Marriage to Austin McBroom

Catherine and Austin dated for one year before welcoming their eldest child, daughter Elle Lively McBroom, in May 2016. Their growing family inspired the birth of their YouTube channel, The ACE Family. The channel is still on YouTube, which has 18.1 million subscribers as of publication.

The former NCAA basketball player proposed to Catherine in 2017, and they tied the knot later that year. Fans were kept in the dark about their nuptials until 2020, when Catherine and Austin announced the news.

Alaïa Marie McBroom joined the family in 2018, and two years later, Catherine gave birth to their first son, Steel McBroom.

The family matriarch announced her pregnancy with Steel more subtly than her other pregnancies via Instagram.

“I wanted to keep you to myself for as long as I could and now after all these months of privately enjoying some time with our family, I am filled with so much joy to share you with the world,” she wrote via Instagram in January 2020 alongside a beach photo of her growing belly exposed in a bikini. “You were the missing puzzle piece, I can’t wait to meet you son.”

Inside Catherine Paiz and Austin McBroom’s Divorce

The family patriarch announced that he and Catherine were separating in January 2024.

“We have mutually agreed to a divorce but will remain a team when it comes to our kids,” he wrote in a statement. “We created one of the greatest stories, almost a decade together, so many memories, so many accomplishments but every book comes to an end. And now we will be writing a new book as separate authors.”

Catherine shared her own statement hours later, writing, “We have mutually agreed to a divorce and will part amicably. Our paths as a couple have shifted and have created challenges that are irreconcilable. This decision comes with a very heavy heart. As heartbreaking as this is, I also feel liberated.”

Cheating rumors quickly swirled as Austin was accused of stepping out on his marriage.

Catherine broke her silence on the infidelity rumors during a May 28, 2025, episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast and claimed that the speculation was true. Days prior, Austin allegedly claimed that Catherine knew of the women he was involved with during their marriage and approved of it as long as he didn’t “embarrass” her.

“I know for sure of three,” Catherine said of the number of women Austin cheated on her with. “They’re out there in the world acting like that never happened, probably.”

She also shut down her ex’s claim about having prior knowledge, stating, “That is not true. I never ever, ever, ever said that. I would never say that. [That was a] punch to the gut.”

A rep for Austin did not immediately respond to Life & Style‘s request or comment.
