Aimee Lou Wood has had a rough time of late between dealing with feud rumors and hitting back at a Saturday Night Live sketch that seemed to make fun of her appearance, but a source exclusively tells Life & Style that she’s gotten a ton of support from Hollywood pals and some of her White Lotus costars.
“Everyone is rallying around her, well, everyone except Walton Goggins, who she’s on the outs with, but the rest of the cast has totally been there for her,” the source spills.
“They’ve called her to tell her how absurd the sketch was,” adds the source. “Other people have taken to social media to defend her, which has of course made her feel a whole lot better.”
‘The White Lotus’ cast members
As Life & Style previously reported, the segment featured comedian Sarah Sherman wearing a pair of large prosthetic teeth while parodying Aimee’s White Lotus character.
“I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny,” the actress later said via her Instagram Story on April 13.
In a follow-up Story, Aimee clarified, “I’m not thin-skinned. I love being taken the piss out of when it’s clever and in good spirits. But the joke was about fluoride. I have big gap teeth, not bad teeth. I don’t mind caricature — I understand that’s what SNL is. But the rest of the skit was punching up and I/Chelsea was the only one punched down on.”
She also reposted a fan reaction to the clip on X that read: “It was a sharp and funny skit until it suddenly took a screeching turn into 1970s misogyny,” to which she chimed in, “This sums up my view.”

The source tells Life & Style that Aimee’s decision to speak out about the skit “helped empower her as well.” She was initially “going to stay quiet,” but she “just couldn’t help saying something.”
According to the source, “so many women have reached out to tell her that her unusual smile has given them confidence in their own less than perfect teeth,” that Aimee “felt obligated to hit back on their behalf as much as her own because it’s just wrong on every level in her view.”
“That doesn’t mean it’s not painful for her to be mocked,” the source explains. “She’s a very sensitive person and she’s also dealt with insecurity over her teeth. She took the jokes on SNL very hard.”
Not long after her public posts, the Sex Education actress was seen crying in public, sparking rumors that the show of emotion may have been related to her feelings about the sketch. However, on April 15, she told fans on Instagram that she hadn’t gotten teary “about anything that the papers made out I was crying about” and noted it was about “something completely unrelated.”
Aimee has also revealed she’s received apologies from the show and that she’d been given a “beautiful” bouquet of flowers from Sarah.
An additional source said that the support she’s received since the sketch “has certainly made Aimee feel better” about the situation.
