Taylor Swift‘s music being used in The Handmaid’s Tale couldn’t have come at a better time.
Just days after President Donald Trump claimed that Taylor is no longer “hot,” she is giving fans a taste of her highly anticipated album Reputation (Taylor’s Version) in the show’s second-to-last episode.
Taylor‘s song “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” is featured in the opening scene of season six’s ninth episode, which just debuted on Hulu. It’s used as Elisabeth Moss‘ June Osborne leads an uprising against the Commanders in Gilead.
Elisabeth opened up about using Taylor‘s song in the episode.

“I’ve been wanting to use a Taylor song for many years on the show and we finally found the perfect spot for a track from her, and I’m so glad we waited because there could not be a more perfect song for a more perfect moment,” she told Billboard. “Taylor has been such an inspiration to me personally. As a Swiftie myself, and I think I can speak for [co-star] Yvonne [Strahovski] and our entire cast as well, who are all Swifties, it’s such an honor to be able to use her music in the final episodes of our show. I said to my editor, Wendy, ‘I really want to find a place for a Taylor track in the last 2 episodes of the show’ and we wanted to find a music queue for the opening of 9, and all the credit goes to Wendy for picking this track for this moment!”
The Taylor’s Version of “Look What You Made Me Do” was previously featured in an episode of Apple TV+’s The Dynasty: New England Patriots and she also featured the new version of her Reputation song “Delicate” in an episode of Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Elisabeth attended one of Taylor‘s Eras Tour shows with co-star Bradley Whitford back in November 2024.
A beloved Handmaid’s Tale star made a surprise return earlier in the season.
