Brooklyn Beckham found a blue-blood match in Nicola Peltz, the daughter of billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz and model Claudia Heffner, and a source exclusively tells Life & Style the married couple are madly in love and eager to add a baby to their lives — but not nearly as as much as Victoria and David Beckham are to be grandparents.
“Victoria and David have both said they don’t want to push Brooklyn and Nicola to start having kids, they want them to do it when they feel the time is right, but it’s no secret they’re very eager for grandkids, they both miss having babies around,” the insider says.
Brooklyn, 26, first got together with the Lola actress, 30, in 2019. After just eight months of dating, the two announced their engagement and wed in a lavish ceremony at Nicola’s family estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
“Brooklyn and Nicola’s relationship is super solid,” the source assures. “They’ve been together six years, so they’ve had plenty of time to test things out and prove that they can go the distance.”
Football icon and doting dad David, 50, was just 24 years old when he had Brooklyn, the oldest of his four kids with wife Victoria, 51. The insider says, “Brooklyn wants to be a young dad, just like David was,” and would prefer to start building a huge family with his actress wife as soon as possible.
“Time goes by really fast,” David said of parenting his kids. “One minute you’re holding them in hospital for the first time and then, the next minute, they’re driving their car. But it’s the most special thing, I would never change anything.”
“Obviously, Victoria and I had Brooklyn at a very young age,” the soccer star added. “But I always wanted that, because I wanted my kids to live through my career with me ― through the highs and obviously a couple of lows along the way. I always wanted that.
“I think you mature quicker with kids. You have more important things in life to worry about than your everyday worries, and life becomes all about the kids. I think that’s what you learn as a father, you become less important and it’s all about your children.”
As Brooklyn grew up in the public spotlight, many fans are equally as shocked he’s getting ready to make his star athlete dad and pop star mom grandparents.
“Nicola and Brooklyn both come from big families — she’s got five siblings and they’ve both said they want a lot of kids themselves — so it’s time to start trying,” the source adds.
“They aren’t putting any huge pressure on things. They want to enjoy the whole journey, but they’re both healthy and in their twenties so no one is expecting it to take long before they have some good news to share.”
As for the impatient grandparents, “Victoria is doing her best not to pester them, but she’s very excited and has already started buying cute baby clothes and toys just to be ready.”
