Low energy. So cringe. How messy. People flocked to social media to share their harsh reactions after footage of Katy Perry’s performance on the Lifetimes Tour surfaced, with one X user even suggesting, “Maybe instead of going to space, she should have been rehearsing.”
The pop star, 40, “has been down this bullying road before, and she refuses to give it life,” a source exclusively tells Life & Style. “Constructive criticism is one thing, but she has no time for people just being nasty.”
In a letter to fans, Katy brushed off the barrage of hate she’s received and reassured her beloved KatyCats that she was doing OK. “When the ‘online’ world tries to make me a human piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, [because] I know so many people are hurting in so many ways, and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for [the] unhinged and unhealed,” she commented on a fan page’s Instagram video. “I’m not perfect, and I have actually omitted that word from my vocabulary.”
What the singer is, is human. “Playing the game of life with an audience of many,” she wrote. “And sometimes I fall but … I get back up, and go on, and continue to play.”
Katy “has already brushed off the comments,” insists Life & Style’s source, “and is excited about touring for her true fans.”
