What Is Gerry Turner’s Book ‘Golden Years’ About?
Golden Years is described as “an uplifting memoir about a fresh start after heartbreak and a peek behind the reality TV curtain,” according to the Hachette Book Group’s website.
“When his high school sweetheart and wife of over forty years passed away unexpectedly, Gerry Turner’s life was indelibly changed. In that moment, his and Toni’s shared vision of living out their retirement together was shattered. In the wake of this profound loss, Gerry had to move forward — for himself, for his daughters and for Toni,” the synopsis read. “After years of grieving and uneven healing, Gerry finally felt ready to find the next woman he couldn’t live without — to help him take on new adventures and live out his golden years the way Toni would have wanted him to.”
In addition to documenting his grieving process after Toni’s passing in 2017, the book will discuss Gerry’s experience on The Golden Bachelor.

Golden Years will be released on November 4, 2025, by Grand Central Publishing.
‘Golden Years’ Will Share a New Side of Gerry Turner
After the book was announced in May 2025, Gerry teased what fans can expect. “I am more than what people saw on reality TV, and now everyone can get a glimpse of my life and finally see the unedited story of the Golden Bachelor,” he told People in a statement.
What Happened to Gerry Turner on ‘The Golden Bachelor’?
After pursuing relationships with many women on The Golden Bachelor, Gerry ended the season engaged to Theresa Nist. The couple wasted no time and got married in January 2024, though their love story wasn’t meant to be and they announced their split in April 2024.
After Gerry and Theresa finalized their divorce in June 2024, he revealed that he moved on with someone new, a woman named Lana, in April 2025.
Gerry announced his relationship with Lana during the April 15, 2025, episode of Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt‘s “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast.
“At this point, it’s going well, but I don’t wanna say too much and jinx it. And I’m trying to respectfully get to a point where there’s an acceptable amount of time from my divorce. Maybe that’s an old-fashioned thought, you know, maybe it doesn’t matter as much as I think it does, but to be respectful, I kind of want to slow roll this,” Gerry said, referring to his split from Theresa.
