Bebe Rexha clapped back at Azealia Banks after the rapper made some negative comments about her body at the 2025 Met Gala.
“Sis gives me – hormonal birth control implant or something,” Azealia, 33, wrote alongside a photo of Bebe, 35, from fashion’s biggest night via X. “It’s giving implanon/nuvaring she needs removed or depo shot that needs to stop happening (I’m not even tryna play her).”
The “Heart Wants What It Wants” singer called Azealia out on her remarks on Tuesday, May 6.
“And you might wanna jump on some type of therapy, sis, lexapro worked great for me. something that helps with the deep rooted sadness and chaos you keep projecting. Healing looks good on everyone. Try it,” she added in a repost of Azealia’s comment.
She later returned with another reply to Azealia.
“I’m so tired of people commenting on my weight,” Bebe wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “I have PCOS [polycystic ovary syndrome] and struggle with infertility.”
She continued, “I got pregnant, and it didn’t work out and I’ve been carrying that pain in silence. I never owed anyone the truth, but maybe now you’ll think twice before commenting on anyone’s body.”
Bebe didn’t reveal any details about the pregnancy or who the father was.
The “Baby, I’m Jealous” singer was first linked to Keyan Safyari in 2020 after they were spotted together in Los Angeles. She and Keyan, 41, quarantined together and Bebe gushed about their time in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“I wasn’t lonely during quarantine,” Bebe said at the time. “I have a very wonderful man in my life right now and he’s so amazing. I’m very grateful for him and I’m just enjoying my life and seeing where it goes.”

However, Bebe hinted that their relationship had ended when she shared a text seemingly sent from Keyan in July 2023. In the message, the filmmaker criticized her weight.
“But I always said I would be honest with you and your face was changing so I told you it was … that was the conversation we were having and you asked,” the text read. “Because I care, would you rather I lied to you? You gained 35 pounds obviously you gained weight and your face changes? Should I just pretend it didn’t happen and that it’s ok? Come on I gain 3 pounds and you call me chubbs and fat. Doesn’t mean you don’t love me.”
He added, “If you’re trying to find reasons to break up this makes sense … but it’s not the real reason. If you’re unhappy with me/yourself/with life and don’t see a future with us then that’s ok and that’s the reason.”
Bebe confirmed their split at one of her concerts later that month.
In August 2024, Rexha was seen vacationing in Sardinia, Italy, with Simos Liakos, an architectural engineer. The two were photographed getting cozy with one another, but six months later, it appeared as though the couple had gone their separate ways.
“I’m single and I want to feel the love,” Bebe wrote in an Instagram Story in February 2025.
The Grammy award nominee has not publicly addressed their relationship or split.
