After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and history from Bucknell University in 2009, Billy worked as a sales assistant at Discovery Communications. According to his LinkedIn, the New Yorker got promoted to sales planner the following year. Billy left the role in 2012 and became a franchise account executive at TIME Inc.
While climbing up the corporate ladder and being promoted to national digital director in May 2016, Billy attended graduate school at NYU Stern School of Business. He graduated in 2019.
After working for The Arena Group between 2019 and 2024, Billy got hired at Minute Media as the senior vice president of digital sales and partnerships.
He is also a real estate broker and investor.

The pair quite literally crossed paths in New York City at Mr. Purple in 2015, according to The Knot. Brooks was denied entry after she got busted for having a fake ID – and Billy watched the whole scene go down. From there, they linked up and started dating.

The model said, “Yes,” to Billy’s proposal in 2018, and they tied the knot the following year in New Orleans.
Billy and Brooks’ wedding was elegant and timeless, as the ceremony took place in a classic church and hosted more than 300 guests.
“I walked out to the same hymn as Kate Middleton. It fit the holiness and the power of the church!” Brooks told The Knot after the big day. “We kept the ceremony decor romantic with lots of floating candles and minimal greenery with two large arrangements on either side of us. It’s such an extravagant old church, we didn’t want to take away from its details. We even had our bridesmaids and groomsmen sit instead of stand.”
