Sam Ruddock is missing.
Authorities are now searching for the 35-year-old British Paralympic athlete who mysteriously went missing after a trip to Las Vegas.
The athlete, who has cerebral palsy and competed for Great Britain’s team in cycling, shotput and sprinting events in the 2012 and 2016 Paralympic Games, was reported missing by his family after he abruptly stopped all contact April 16, via BBC.
He had traveled to Las Vegas from Warwickshire, England to attend a Wrestlemania event a few days prior, his friend Lucy Hatton told the outlet.

She said he had stayed with her right before his trip, and is usually very communicative and active on social media. As a result, his sudden lack of contact “started to raise flags,” and is “really, really out of character.”
Lucy also said he’d not “been in quite the right head space” lately.
“I absolutely know Sam was in Vegas,” she explained. “The concerning part is he went silent from the 16th and because he is such a big presence on social media people were quite fast to notice.”
His last post to Instagram on April 16 featured himself getting a tour of Las Vegas.
Mother Fran Ruddock and Lucy alerted authorities to the disappearance in the United Kingdom and United States, and are looking for any leads.
“Anything at all to piece together the gaps,” his mother said.
The British Cycling organization also issued a statement.
“We urge anyone who has been in contact with Sam since 16 April or may have any information of his whereabouts to contact their local police department as soon as possible,” the statement reads.
Lincolnshire Police confirmed there was an active missing persons investigation.
A Foreign Office spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British man reported missing in Las Vegas and are in contact with the local authorities.”
