    Donald Trump and Melania Trump are mourning Pope Francis.

    The 78-year-old President of the United States and 55-year-old First Lady paid their respects in St. Peter’s Square on Saturday morning (April 26) in Vatican City.

    The two were directed to their front row seats around 4 a.m. ET, per CBS News, ahead of the service. They were seated next to Estonian President Alar Karis, King Felipe VI of Spain and Queen Letizia of Spain. Across the aisle, to their right, sat Finland’s President Alexander Stubb. Trump was seen speaking with him at the start of the ceremony.

    Former President Joe Biden and former first lady Jill Biden also went, sitting four rows behind Trump.

    Prince William was also in attendance, and was seen briefly speaking to the President.

    Trump previously met with the Pope in 2017, in a meeting that was described as “stiff.”
