Who Are the Coaches on ‘The Voice’ Season 28?

NBC announced Snoop Dogg as the first coach for season 28 on April 23, 2025. He returns to the singing competition as part of a multi-year deal with NBCUniversal alongside his production company, Death Row Pictures, according to Deadline.

“Not everyone has the courage and vision to see what Death Row Pictures can bring to the table, but Donna [Langley] and the NBCUniversal team have always understood, which is why I am proud to call NBCUniversal my new home,” the star said in a statement. “The Dogg has officially moved into the neighborhood, ya dig?”

NBCUniversal Entertainment & Studios Chairman Donna Langley added, “Audiences around the world love Snoop and connect with his unparalleled showmanship and artistry. Those of us lucky enough to be in his orbit also know his incredible business acumen, endlessly creative spirit and the unapologetic authenticity that he brings to every project. There’s only one Snoop, and we’re so excited for him to join our unbelievable roster of creative partners.”

Snoop Dogg Called His 1st Season on ‘The Voice’ a ‘Great Experience’

Many fans are getting their wish for Snoop to return after he quickly became a standout coach during his first time in the red chair in season 26, which aired on NBC in the fall of 2024. Snoop coached Jeremy Beloate to the finale, where the singer ended up in fifth place. The rapper had several emotional moments throughout the season and forged a sweet bond with many of his contestants.

“It’s been a great experience for me,” he told The Voice host Carson Daly after the season ended. “I didn’t know what I was signing on to, but I do know it feels like I could come back and do it again.”

Ahead of his debut in season 26, Snoop teased on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May 2024 that he was a great fit for The Voice.

“If you know anything about me, you know I love music of all forms,” the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” hitmaker said. “So this is a great opportunity for me to show that I really understand music and, you know, to be a real coach and to really give direction to some of these artists that could be today’s next big thing.”
