Slater Nalley suffered a fall during the live taping of American Idol‘s Top 14 Reveal episode, but thankfully he’s alright!
The 18-year-old Atlanta-based high school student fell down the stairs while leaving the stage during the live episode on Monday night (April 21).
After automatically advancing to the Top 14 thanks to votes from America, Slater performed Jason Isbell’s “This Ain’t It” for the crowd.
When Slater left the stage to sit with the rest of the advancing contestants, he tripped down the stairs and left host Ryan Seacrest visibly concerned.

“Are you okay?” Ryan asked. He jokingly added, “It’s the heel on that boot!”
One fan on Twitter tweeted, “Slater Nalley ALSO books an auto spot in the top 14 — Interesting that his song tonight was “This Ain’t It” — maybe not his BEST vocal (it got a little screamy at times) so kind of wonder how safe he is for NEXT week – and then he FALLS DOWN THE STAGE STAIRS.”
Thankfully, right after the trip happened, Slater recovered and the cameras showed him sitting down with other Top 14 finalists.
Slater took to Instagram and wrote, “POV: You make Top 14 of American Idol and immediately fall off stage… But Seriously, thank yall so much for voting me into the Top 14! Feeling extremely grateful right now. More music to come!”
