Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Meredith Marks was trolled by fans who called her out on a heavily edited photo she posted of herself.
Meredith, 53, shared two pictures of herself on Instagram on Friday, April 18, but social media users were quick to point out that they believed the images were edited using Facetune. In the photos, the mom of three wore a gold monochrome look as she smiled and stood in a stairwell.
“Jealousy is a disease, to which I say, ‘Get well soon!’” Meredith captioned the pictures, referencing her RHOSLC tagline in season 1.
Several commenters rushed to the comments section and accused the Bravolebrity of going a little too far with the use of the popular editing app, Facetune.
“Meredith, please disengage with Facetune, you’re so beautiful without it,” one Instagram user wrote, while another added, “I thought this was [Rachael Kirkconnell] from The Bachelor lol omg the Facetune.”
The official Facetune profile on Instagram even chimed in and said, “I second the get well soon.”
Meredith’s editing faux pas came on the heels of former Real Housewives of New York City star Ramona Singer getting slammed for a similar Photoshop fail, and several commenters referenced Ramona’s picture.
“We need to rip FaceTune from the clutches of all the Housewives until we get this sorted out,” one person wrote.
Another chimed in and said, “Her and Ramona split the subscription.”
Ramona, 68, shared a picture of herself next to two men on April 10 via Instagram and captioned the shot, “Just another great night in Palm Beach!”
In the photo, she wore a form fitting blue and white dress and not a flaw was to be found on her face. Fans couldn’t help but call her out in the comments section.
“Ramona, you look like a newborn,” an Instagram user stated.
Another person compared Ramona to her 29-year-old daughter, Avery.
“I love you Ramona … but come on!!! This makes you look younger than Avery,” the person said.
However, Ramona later addressed the accusations and denied doing anything to the picture herself.
“I guess my gorgeous gay friends did lol,” Ramona said in response.
Meredith and Ramona are just two more of the Housewives to join the Photoshop fail club. Last year, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice was relentlessly teased about a picture she posted of herself and Larsa Pippen. In the image, Teresa, 52, and Larsa, 50, were very clearly edited into a photo with a beach background.
Fans flooded the comments section with one person writing, “I’m horrible at Photoshop but this takes bad to a whole new level. Is this supposed to be funny? Like, for real. Is there a joke I don’t know about?”
The picture received so much backlash that Teresa eventually addressed the situation and her poor editing skills when she was a guest on Live With Kelly and Mark in the summer of 2024.
“Did you deliberately make it look like a Photoshop?” host Kelly Ripa asked.
“Well, it was her birthday. I was scrambling,” Teresa replied. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s her birthday, I have to post a picture for her.’ We’re really close.”
She continued, “That was the only picture I came across. I said, ‘Oh great, summer!’ I just didn’t like the background. And I called my assistant slash social media person and she’s like, ‘I’m in Mexico.’ And I’m like, ‘Perfect, take a picture of the beach! That’s perfect, we’re in bikinis! Put it like that.’ So it’s an actual photo but we’re just in a different place. We’re in Mexico — and now we’re all over the world.”
