Ben Affleck was on set filming his upcoming movie Animals doing what appeared to be a dramatic scene…but it was the hint of skin on his back that caught some attention!
The 52-year-old actor filmed at the river in Los Angeles on Monday (April 14), where he appeared to be angry and throw a bag to the ground. In addition, there appeared to he bullet-like holes in the back of his shirt.
When Ben bent over to pick up the bag, his shirt lifted and some of the bare skin on his back was exposed. What looked to be a black-and-white tattoo peeked through.
You may remember, back in 2015, it was discovered that Ben had a huge, super colorful phoenix back tattoo. This, however, looks quite different.

In the new photos, taken this week, Ben‘s tattoo appears altered from it’s original phoenix image. It’s unclear if he covered it with a brand new tattoo, or if this new-looking back tattoo is just makeup for the film specifically.
Ben‘s back tattoo made a ton of headlines years ago. You might remember that in 2015, he told the public the tattoo was fake, only for him to reveal it was real years later.
His ex wife, Jennifer Garner, reacted to the back tattoo after their split, saying, in part, “I take umbrage.”
Animals is also being directed by Ben and stars Gillian Anderson, Kerry Washington, Steven Yeun, and Ray Fisher.
