He apparently led police on a car chase in Houston, Texas, and crashed his car on Saturday (April 12). He was then found dead. Police were responding to a weapons disturbance call from one of his relatives, who said he had shot a gun into the ground. Police reportedly caught up to him, but the chase began.
They said their “preliminary information indicates that Lacy shot himself during the pursuit and prior to the vehicle crashing.”
His death occurred several months after he was accused of being involved in a crash that killed 78-year-old Herman Hall. He allegedly fled the scene without rendering aid or calling authorities, and turned himself in a month later.
