Fans are dying to know what happens in The White Lotus season 3 finale, but Aimee Lou Wood, who plays Chelsea, recently revealed that she accidentally spoiled the ending for someone way ahead of time.
Aimee, 31, explained that she absentmindedly left some behind-the-scenes photos lying on a table in her flat that an on-set photographer had given her as a gift. Her roommate came home and saw them.
“I came back when I saw him at home, he was like, ‘I’m so angry,’” the actress told Buzzfeed in an article published on Friday, April 4. “And I was like, ‘Why?’ And he was like, ‘I’ve seen the photos, Aimee, I’ve seen the photos.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m so sorry.’”
Aimee confessed, “I have ruined it for a few people, but it was very much accidental.”
Her faux pas was very much out of line with how strict the crew was about making sure the cast of The White Lotus season 3 didn’t give anything away, especially on social media. Aimee said that they are “all so paranoid” about what the actors shared and explained that they would “check about a million times” before any of them were allowed to post anything. However, Mike White, the creator of the series, was the least worried about if a spoiler was revealed by mistake, according to Aimee.
“I remember being like, ‘Am I allowed to post this picture of Patrick [Schwarzenegger]?’ Because Patrick and I started it together, and we ended it together, like my first scene was with him, and my last scene was with him,” the Sex Education alum continued. “We took the selfie, and Mike was like, ‘Can I be in it?’ And I was like, ‘Of course, you can be in it. Mike, yes, please.’ And he got in, and I said, ‘But I can’t post it. Can I? Because I mean costume, and I don’t want to give anything away.’ And Mike’s like, ‘You can post it.’ So he was, like, the most chill about it.”
The storylines in The White Lotus season 3 have kept fans on their toes when it comes to guessing who dies in the finale. (The first episode began with a dead body floating in a body of water.) That still hasn’t stopped viewers from putting together their own theories on the matter. Aimee’s character quickly became a fan favorite and even though her death would upset a lot of fans, Chelsea’s definitely in the running for this season’s potential victim.
In The White Lotus season 3 finale trailer, Chelsea was seen running into her boyfriend Rick’s (Walton Goggins) arms on the beach, but the lighting might have hinted that this was possibly a dream or a vision. Plus, Chelsea’s already experienced two close calls this season. The first occurred when she was in the hotel’s jewelry store as it got robbed at gunpoint, and then she was bitten by a poisonous snake after Rick decided to free all the animals at a snake farm the couple visited. Chelsea also pointed out that bad things happened in threes which could potentially foreshadow her impending doom.
The White Lotus season 3 finale airs on Sunday, April 6, at 9:00 p.m. on HBO and Max.
