The White House Correspondents’ Association released a statement today announcing her performance was canceled. And they also said there will be no replacement.

The WHCA said that their board meet and unanimously decided to forgo a comedian at this year’s at the April 26 dinner in Washington, D.C.

“At this consequential moment for journalism, I want to ensure the focus is not on the politics of division, but entirely on awarding our colleagues for their outstanding work and providing scholarship and mentorship to the next generation of journalists…” per WHCA President Eugene Daniels in a statement.

This news comes two months after WHCA President Daniels announced Ruffin was performing and said she was “the ideal fit for this current political and cultural climate.”
