Justin Bieber continues to concern fans after sharing another cryptic post about “hate,” fueling growing worries about his mental health.
“I was always told when I was a kid not to hate,” Justin, 31, wrote in a lengthy Instagram Story posted on Sunday, March 16. “But it made me feel like I wasn’t allowed to have it and so I didn’t tell anyone I’ve had it.”
The “Baby” musician said holding in his hate led to a “drowning feeling” as he felt “unsafe to acknowledge” the feelings he felt inside him.
“I think we can only let hate go,” he continued. “By first acknowledging it’s there. How couldn’t we feel hate from all the hurt we have experienced.”
The Canadian singer has been worrying fans since January with his unkempt public appearances and questionable online posts. Earlier this month, Justin posted six photos of himself using a glass bong and fans flooded his comment section with concerns.
“The poor guy needs help,” wrote one. “I hope that he can see it himself and that he opts to get better not only for himself but for his baby too.”
A week earlier, Justin’s rep denied that he was using “hard drugs” to TMZ and said he was in “one of the best places in his life” as he made new music and parents his newborn son, Jack Blues Bieber, with his wife, Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin).
However, sources exclusively told Life & Style that the fears for the “Never Say Never” artist are warranted and his lifestyle “takes a toll” on the Rhode Beauty founder, 28.
“His behavior’s been troubling for some time. What fans are seeing now is just a small taste of what his life is really like,” the source explained on March 12. “He goes through periods where he isolates, then periods where he’s active and will spend time with friends. Justin can also have pretty intense low periods.”
Hailey and Justin are no strangers to split speculation, with their latest round igniting after fans spotted the “Boyfriend” artist unfollowed his wife on Instagram earlier this year. However, he re-followed her hours later and denied that he was the one who unfollowed her in the first place.
Although Hailey’s public support for Justin has been unwavering, insiders say it’s also come at a cost for the influencer. “Justin says she’s the person he leans on most. That’s not an easy position to be in, especially while trying to balance new motherhood and her career,” explained the source. “It’s hard for her to ask for help from Justin, so she ends up shouldering most of this on her own.”
Despite the hardships, they love each other very much “and divorce isn’t an option right now,” adds the source, “but Hailey and people close to her are hoping Justin can turn things around.”
Justin and Hailey – who tied the knot in 2018 – announced they were expecting their first child together in an Instagram post in May 2024. Justin and Hailey were seen posing for a maternity shoot, while they also renewed their vows in a clip. Only three months later, the couple announced the birth of their first child in August 2024.
