Did Jason Isaacs Use a Prosthetic in His ‘White Lotus’ Full Frontal Scene?
Yes, according to the actors who played two of his three children on the show.
“That wasn’t his real penis,” Sam Nivola, who portrayed youngest child Lochlan Ratliff, told TV Insider about his television dad on March 11, 2025.
Sarah Catherine Hook, who played daughter Piper Ratliff added, “It was a prosthetic.”
The two stars said Jason had a great time with his pretend penis on the day of filming the now-infamous scene.
“It was really funny. He was very excited to do it. I think he took pride in the prosthetic,” Sarah noted, while Sam said, “He’s like, ‘It’s my fake d–k scene today!’”
What Happened During Jason Isaac’s Full Frontal Scene?
In episode 4 of season 3, which aired on March 9, 2025, Jason’s Timothy had been self-medicating by sneaking wife Victoria Ratliff’s Lorazepam anti-anxiety pills after finding out he was being investigated for some type of financial fraud. The couple were vacationing at The White Lotus resort in Thailand with their three kids when he got bad news.
With Victoria (Parker Posey), eldest son Saxon Ratliff (Patrick Schwarzenegger), Piper and Lochlan already awake and waiting their father in their bungalow living room, a groggy Timothy joined them wearing a short bathrobe. After sitting down on a stool to talk to his kids, the investor’s short robe opened to show off he wasn’t wearing anything underneath.
Piper and Lochlan were mortified by the sight of their dad’s family jewels, while Victoria and Saxon found his wardrobe malfunction hilarious.
What Other Actors Have Used Prosthetics for ‘White Lotus’ Full Frontal Scenes?
In the first episode of season 2, Theo James’ Cameron Babcock took off his pants to change into swim trunks in front of Aubrey Plaza’s Harper Spiller, who happened to be his best friend’s wife, while his manhood was on full display.
Theo later revealed he used a prosthetic for the scene.
“You go into these things, and you have a conversation with the director and the producers, and they go, ‘OK, for this, we’re going to use a prosthetic. We’re going to use something. And you say, ‘OK, that sounds good,’” the England native revealed during a December 2, 2022, appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
He added, “I said, ‘Honestly, I just don’t want it to be distracting. He needs to be a regular Joe, because the scene’s not about the pee-pee. It’s about power play and sex.’”
During The White Lotus season 1, Steve Zahn‘s Mark Mossbacher fretted about his enlarged testicles, which he showed to wife Nicole Mossbacher, played by Connie Britton.
“I remember when I got the script asking [White Lotus creator] Mike [White] if I was going to have to do full frontal. And he’s like, ‘No, it’s going to be a prosthetic,’” Steve told The Wrap in August 2021. “I did have to approve the prosthetic that they used. He showed it to me first. And I was like, ‘Yeah, that’ll do.’”
The actor didn’t even end up using one, as a double was used for the shot of his genitals.
“No, that was my body double,” he said. “I asked if I was going to have to wear it and [Mike] goes, ‘Well, it’s two hours in the makeup chair and we don’t see your face, so we don’t need you to.’”
