Millie Bobby Brown has revealed that her stage name differs from her legal name.
The Stranger Things actress disclosed this information during a candid conversation with BuzzFeed UK.
“My middle name is Bonnie,” she said. “It’s not Bobby. It’s Millie Bonnie Brown.”
“Really,” her Electric State co-star Chris Pratt said.
“I’ve never told anyone that. You heard it here first!” Brown said in an exaggerated voice.
Pratt inquired about her reasoning for the name change, to which Brown playfully responded that she did it for “shits and giggles.”
While the actress hasn’t explained her choice of “Bobby,” speculation suggests it might be a tribute to her father, Robert Brown.
The star’s name journey didn’t stop there. Following her marriage to Jake Bongiovi, son of Jon Bon Jovi, in May 2024, Brown embraced her new married name. She shared this transition through a social media post featuring a blackboard label reading “Millie Bobby Brown BONGIOVI.”
This revelation came alongside images from the set of Stranger Things Season 5, where she captioned the post with a reference to her character, writing “11 in 5.”
The actress has recently attracted attention during her Electric State promotional activities. After posting photos from the Los Angeles premiere, she faced criticism regarding her blonde hair transformation.

Brown addressed these negative comments through a powerful Instagram statement.
“I refuse to apologize for growing up. I refuse to make myself smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman. I will not be shamed for how I look, how I dress or how I present myself,” she said.
“Why is the knee-jerk reaction to say something horrible rather than to say something nice?” Brown added. “If you have a problem with that, I have to wonder — what is it that actually makes you so uncomfortable?”
