While Love Is Blind stars Daniel Hastings and Taylor Haag were one of five couples to leave the pods engaged during season 8, they were the only couple to actually say, “I do,” on their wedding day.
The couple exchanged vows in front of their friends and family in episode 13 of season 8, and both of them had some sweet words for the other at the altar.
Daniel, 30, wrote a letter to Taylor, 32, that he read to her in front of the crowd.
“Taylor, it’s your fiancé, Daniel,” the sales account executive began with a nervous laugh. “To say that it’s been a wild ride would be quite the understatement. It’s crazy to think that just five weeks ago to the day I was getting on a knee after our first date.”
However, it was then that Daniel decided to go off script.
He continued, “I fell in love with you because the way that you process things, the way that you think about things, the way that we instantly became best friends, the way that I can see you being plugged into my life as the mother of my children and as my wife for the rest of my life – this is it. I can see it.”
Taylor, who was all smiles, had something written for Daniel as well.
“Daniel, I have never felt more sure about anything in my life than I am today, standing here with you surrounded by all of our family and friends. If I close my eyes, I’m standing in the hallway before our first date saying, ‘I have a feeling about this next one,’ and it was you,” the colonoscopy nurse said. “I fell in love with your words that day and every day going forward. We have chosen each other since that first date, and I promise to continue choosing you for the rest of our lives.”
Taylor started to tear up as she continued reading, “You have given me a love I wasn’t sure existed, but had always prayed for.”
She went on to read a journal entry of hers from July 2020 where she wrote about the qualities she prayed for in a man, including one who was “kind, generous and giving” and one whose “faith would challenge [her] to deepen [her] own.” Taylor then revealed that she felt like Daniel was “every one of those things.”
The couple sealed their vows with a kiss, making them the only couple from Love Is Blind season 8 to officially tie the knot.
However, their relationship wasn’t always smooth sailing. After seeing each other for the first time, Taylor became nervous that Daniel had somehow followed her on Instagram before they arrived to film Love Is Blind. She was scared that he had possibly used information from her Instagram profile to manipulate a relationship with her while they were in the pods.
Producers gave Taylor a chance to confront Daniel about her concerns and he was adamant that he had never followed her on the social media app. Taylor believed him and the two went on to spend time with the other couples in Honduras and eventually made it down the aisle to become newlyweds.
