Jimmy Fallon and Stephen A. Smith have some thoughts on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce potentially getting married.
The longtime sportscaster, 57, was asked to give his “hot take” on whether Travis and Taylor, both 35, would officially tie the knot soon during the Wednesday, March 5, episode of The Tonight Show.
“I’m scared to get this wrong! Travis Kelce, that’s my dawg,” Stephen joked. “A lot of ladies love Travis Kelce. Travis Kelce has loved a lot of ladies. But Taylor Swift’s a different animal. She looks good. She’s incredibly talented. And she’s worth about a billion [dollars]. We’re going to guess a ‘yes’ on this one.”
Jimmy, 50, was clearly thrilled with Stephen’s prediction and replied, “Oh, I hope that happens.”
Travis and Taylor quickly claimed the title of America’s sweethearts after their romance kicked off in the summer of 2023. The two began quietly seeing each other after the Kansas City Chiefs star joked about trying to give Taylor his number after seeing her perform at Arrowhead Stadium. Unfortunately, his plan didn’t work because the “Blank Space” singer didn’t speak to anyone after her show to preserve her voice.
Ultimately, they found their way to one another and in September of that same year, Taylor made her appearance at a Kansas City Chiefs game and essentially confirmed their relationship. Since then, both Taylor and Travis have supported one another in their careers, with her attending multiple NFL games and him attending numerous shows during her iconic Eras tour. In June 2024, Travis even surprised fans when he joined Taylor on stage for a segment of her performance in London.
Taylor’s relationship with the Super Bowl champ has been wildly different from her previous relationship with actor Joe Alwyn. The “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” artist was notoriously private when she was dating Joe, 34, but she and Travis have had no problem talking about their love.
In November 2023, Travis sat down with The Wall Street Journal and gushed that he’d “never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them.”
“But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it,” the “New Heights” host continued. “The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange.”
When Taylor won multiple awards at the 2024 VMAs, she specifically mentioned “[her] boyfriend, Travis.”
“This video seems really sad when you watch but it was actually really fun to make,” Taylor said, referring to her “Fortnight” video with Post Malone. “[When] I’d say cut, and we’d be done with that take, I would always just hear someone cheering, and like, ‘Wooo!’ from across the studio where we were shooting it, and that one person was my boyfriend, Travis. Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic. So I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot, because I’ll always remember that.”
